However, if the skip is placed on a public road maintained by the local council, a Wigan skip permit is required at an extra cost. This can be booked directly through our website, and we will handle the application process for you. Please note that Wigan Council requires 48 hours to process a permit.
A permit cannot be granted if the skip must be placed:
- On yellow lines
- Close to a pelican crossing or bus stop
- Within 15 metres of a junction
- Near dangerous bends on a busy road
